FYI: I have produced this table from handwritten pages written by both of my grandmother's while they were alive. Though they gave solid detail their penmenship left a little to be desired. Therefore in some cases I had to interpret their writings as best as I could.

I participated in the landmark study of the worldwide human migration journey. The National Geographic Genographic project. I sent in my DNA and they sent me the migrations of ancestors prior to 20,000 years ago. Click on the hyperlink above to get more information on the extraordinary Genographic project. They may still be accepting DNA for migration analysis.

45,000 years ago my ancestors moved from East Africa into the Middle East. They slowly migrated into the Balkan Mountains around 20,000 years ago. From there they again slowly migrated this time the region around Austria. Then my father emigrated to the US and essentially moved the family 20 times further than all of our previous ancestoral migrations combined. Click here to see the detailed DNA results for me and my ancestors.
If you submit your DNA you can also join their DNA database where they will match yours with other samples they have and can trace your family history using a little science. Perhaps an easier way to go in future.
